The holidays are quickly approaching. What does that mean for me? It means chaos. Thankfully, that chaos culminates in fun times and happiness. The process of getting to the joy of the holidays can be daunting but it’s worth it every year. I don’t go through chaos just because it’s a holiday and I feel like I have to. I do it because it’s one time of the year that I know when certain things are happening and can have some kind of plan and strategy. Otherwise it’s life as usual which is – buy clothes as the kids need them, – go to the grocery as we need groceries, – work, – clean the house when we can, etc. You get it.

This time of year is when I make plans. I plan what the kids, or my 8-year-old daughter at least, is going to wear to family get together’s and school parties. I make an official grocery list with things like brown sugar, chocolate chips, and turkey, on it. Organization is what I appreciate about the holidays, besides spending time with my family.

Madelyn has been growing faster than a weed this year. It’s like her body is mocking me. I bought her a new wardrobe in the Spring and she’s already outgrown most of the pieces. Her second favorite piece, after the fox sweater, is this red striped french terry pullover. Oh my gosh.. if they made one for adults I’d have grabbed one for myself. Too cute.. and comfy! As you can see, Madelyn prefers casual clothes. 4th of July Kids Clothes and Accessories at The Children’s Place

It’s a rainy day here in Atlanta and tomorrow is July 4th. I will hardly let the rain stop us from being patriotic and proud!

One way that we show off our USA pride in the is to wear festive clothes and accessories. As my daughter got old enough to dress herself, I quickly learned that a 4th of July outfit made up of a red shirt, blue shorts, and white sandals just won’t do.

What was I thinking!?

One children’s clothing store that I know will have festive, 4th of July, clothes and accessories is The Children’s Place.

Here are a few festive, 4th of July pieces, that Madelyn loves and will get when we go shopping this afternoon, if she has her way, and if this rain slows down. 🙂

I Need to Restock my Four Year Old’s Closet.. Again!

My 4 year has sprouted so much in the past six months that she went from being able to wear a size 3T & 4T comfortably, to wearing 5T clothes. The problem is, I stocked her up on 4T’s thinking that she’s hang in there for a while, but nope.. she’s moving on up! I don’t like to wear tight clothing so I empathize and don’t have a problem restocking her closet, but sheesh, it seems like I just stocked her up with a ton of 4T’s and now I need to fill her closet with 5T clothes or she’ll look a little too skimpy for my taste. Short pants, belly shirts.. not cute on a 4 year old.

Don’t get me wrong.. I am so glad she’s going through a growth spurt as she’s always been a little shorter than most of the kids in her class. She could use some catching up. I’m only 5″1′ though, so it looks like she might have gotten her height gene from me. Poor thing. 🙁 Could be worse though right?

I guess I’ll be browsing some of my favorite children’s clothing stores, TheChildrensPlace.com, OldNavy.com, and Gap Kids.

Update: I just did some preliminary window (online) shopping at a few of my favorite children’s clothing stores and look at these adorable outfits I put together! I know, most of the pieces plain jane, but I like pieces that will go with a lot.
