Animal Fun Time iPhone app review + 5 readers will get a free copy!

Animal Fun Time iPhone appI’m having a blast trying out new iPhone apps and what’s even better is that I get to watch my kids enjoy them too! Yes, I try apps for organizing, apps for recipes, apps for travel, but apps for the kids are the most fun because my kids are involved and I love to see their reaction and desire to play or watch them over and over again.  My kids are on iPhone time limits.  I don’t recommend handing your iPhone over to your kids and letting them have at it for hours. I think about 10 minutes at a time is plenty.

Animal Fun Time (iTunes link), brought to us by people operating technology, provides interactive musical on-screen flashcards featuring the animals as the stars. Promoting interactive see, touch & recognition skills, with bright colors and great sound effects, it’s the perfect app for a busy toddler AND for a busy parent who needs a busy toddler!

So what is Animal Fun Time? It is an app that teaches toddlers ages 3+ animal recognition as well as hand-eye coordination.  There are 5 animals on the screen at a time and your child must ‘press’ on the correct animal to move to the next screen. Kids are awarded with realistic (if not real) animal sounds and enthusiastic praise when he/she presses on the correct animal.

Madelyn, 3 years old, has a great time with Animal Fun Time. She loves to hear the noise each animal makes when she chooses the correct animal. The game is randomized so the game is never the same and thus your kids won’t get bored with it. Oh, and don’t worry, there’s no need for instructions so you can count on handing your iPhone over to your toddler to play Animal Fun Time and she’ll be on her way to a super fun time!

Fun News & Giveaway: What celebrities did before becoming famous

I stumbled across this information this morning, not sure how, and had to share it with you.  I find some of the pre-celebrity jobs fascinating such as the coffin polishing __________ (ya’ gotta keep reading!).   Do you know what a celebrity did before becoming famous? What about Prince, Kate Gosselin (yes, her), or Tom Cruise<UPDATE:  The celebrities I listed have all been listed by now.. be creative in your celebrity search! Do the research and leave the info, including a link to the source, in the comments below and I will give one random commenter a $10 Amazon.com gift certificate!  Entries will be accepted until 10pm May 29th and I will announce the winner right here in this post!

Whoopi Goldberg was a bricklayer.  That’s a tough job!

Russell Crowe was a waiter.  I’m sure he got some great tips from the ladies.

Gwen Stefani’s previous job was as a Dairy Queen cleaner.  Wacky huh?

Johnny Depp was a telemarketer!  What a bummer..wasting his good looks by sitting in a cubicle bugging people on the phone.

Pink was a McDonald’s worker.

Simon Cowell worked in the post room.

Madonna worked in a doughnut factory.  WHAT?

Colin Farrell was a dance teacher.  Not the suspected sexy kind of dancing.. line dancing!

Barack Obama was an ice cream seller.  How much more ‘all-American’ can you get?

Geri Halliwell, pre Spice Girls, was a Turkish game show hostess.  Huh, can you picture that?

Brad Pitt was a chicken dancer for a Mexican restaurant.  His job was to entice people to eat at the restaurant.  Couldn’t he have just stood there as himself, not a chicken?

Harrison Ford was a carpenter.  I can’t really vision that one.

Sean Connery was a coffin polisher.  I can vision that.

Annie Lennox was a waitress at a cafe in North London.

Giveaway: A Jiffy Lube gift card – the perfect gift for busy moms!

Jiffy Lube gift card giveaway

“Many moms focus on getting their family where they need to go, and it’s important that preventive vehicle maintenance does not get overlooked in busy schedules,” said John Sanfacon, head of Marketing and Innovations at Jiffy Lube International. “The Jiffy Lube Gift Card provides convenience and value to a busy mom.” Exactly what moms need.

The Jiffy Lube survey found that 23 percent of women say their biggest pet peeve while driving is streaky wind shield wipers (I griped about my streaky wipers recently!), and nearly the same amount (22 percent) say it’s a squealing noise from the engine or brakes that won’t stop. The gift of preventive vehicle maintenance can help with all of Mom’s vehicle needs, and let her breathe a sigh of relief.

Consumers can purchase the Jiffy Lube Gift Card online at JiffyLube.com or at participating Jiffy Lube service centers across the United States.  The gift card can be set for monetary denominations from $5 to $300, has no expiration date or fees, and can be redeemed toward any Jiffy Lube preventive maintenance service, including the popular Jiffy Lube Signature Service® Oil Change, tire rotation, engine air filter replacement, radiator antifreeze/coolant replacement, automatic transmission fluid exchange, fuel filter and cabin air filter replacement.

To find a Jiffy Lube in your area, visit Locations.JiffyLube.com. Moms (and dads) can also visit JiffyLube.com to find oil change coupons and promotions, Jiffy Lube news articles, community involvement programs and events, franchise information, and employment opportunities.

GIVEAWAY!
We are giving two lucky subscribers a $35 Jiffy Lube gift card.
To enter to win simply tell us in the comments below, in 3 – 6 sentences, about your first car.  Entries accepted until 11:59pm May 31st and a winner will be chosen at random.  Good luck!
