No matter how much parents try to sway their little girls or boys to play with toys that are made for either gender, I have found that my little girl and my son always gravitate toward toys that were specifically made for their gender. My son loves outdoor toys and my daughter likes dolls and kitchen toys.
My daughter first saw Little Mommy dolls advertised on TV. I think she saw the one that poops in the potty that she comes with. She though she needed that doll the same day because that doll needed a mommy (my daughter) to teach her how to go poopoo in the potty. I knew that another Little Mommy doll was on its way to our doorstep so I redirected her attention to a nice game of ‘who can put the most make up on your baby dolls’.’
My daughter was beside herself when her Baby So New™ Little Mommy doll we received to review, arrived at our door. She set up a bed for her, tried to feed her celery (because that’s what babies like to eat right?), and then decided that Baby So New™ could use a nap so she fed her with the bottle that came with her and sang to her to ‘put her to sleep’.
These lovable dolls can be part of capturing memorable moments, sharing important milestones, and most of all, giggling with all of your own LittleMommies.
Your little girl will have a great time with the Little Mommy printables on the Mattel Little Mommy website. Printables include a “Little Mommy – My Little Scrapbook”, a Birth Certificate for your child’s Little Mommy doll, and Flash Cards. In the photograph to the right, Madelyn is filling out one of the Scrapbook pages.
Here is a quick video of my daughter singing to her Baby So New™ Little Mommy doll:
