ZulaWorld.com, an online virtual destination for kids ages 5+

ZulaWorld, a fun and educational online virtual world for kids ages 5 and up, is based on the PBS show The Zula Patrol.  In Zula World’s virtual world, kids can create their own avatar, fly their own spaceship, and discover for themselves that when it comes to science, exploring is never boring. Sebastian has found that there are endless possibilities when in Zula World and enjoys playing the games to earn Zlinkles to by stuff for his spaceship and pet Fweeble for example. Players can see other players and ask them pre-written questions such as “Want to play a game?”.  All ‘talking’ between members is via pre-written phrases so your kids are not at risk of reading anything inappropriate.

In ZulaWorld™, a user’s experience is full of discoveries and play that encourage and reward scientific thinking. They will play games, go on quests, and be assigned missions that reinforce and foster the development of their science, math, and critical thinking skills!

Add some summer splashing excitement to your backyard with a Little Tikes Slam ‘n Curve Slide

KLittle Tikes Slam n' Curve Slideids love playing the water and what’s better than swimming and splashing in the summer?  How about sliding down a curving slide to shoot out into the cool waters of a splash pool?  Sounds fun, doesn’t it?  It is!  I can tell you first hand and that’s because despite the fact that I am in my 30’s, and not in the recommended ages range of 5-10 years old, I’ve been down the slide more than once.  There is a weight limit of around 300lbs so I felt OK about enjoying the Slam n’ Curve Slide with my kids.  We had a blast!

The Slam n’ Curve Slide from Little Tikes is designed so parents can see all the action.   I sit on the back porch while my kids enjoy the slide and splash pool.  The splash pool is just the right depth for Madelyn (3 yrs old) to enjoy while Sebastian goes down the slide again and again and again.  It never gets old.  The Slam n’ Curve Slide is made of puncture-resistance material and includes everything you need to set it up including stakes, the blower which inflates the Slam n’ Curve Slide in about 1 minute (no kidding!), a repair kit, and storage bag. A fun inflatable rock wall is the way up to the slippery slide with an optional spray of water (turn off or don’t hook up the hose if your kids don’t want the water spraying on them) coming down from the canopy at the top of the rock wall. The curve at the end of the slides makes for nice, fun, splash into the refreshing pool.

Here’s a short video of my kids enjoying the Little Tikes Slam n’ Curve Slide.

6 boxes of ice cream in my Frigidaire!

I was so excited yesterday when I was able to put 6 boxes of ice cream on one shelf in my new Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator freezer!  If I wanted to, I could stack another 6 boxes on top of these and have 12 boxes of ice cream in my freezer!  Whoa!  I know it’s pretty silly to get excited about fitting 6 boxes of ice cream on a shelf in my freezer but prior to having my new Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator, that was nearly impossible.  We are having a big 4th of July party this weekend so unfortunately, 5 of the 6 boxes .. if not all, will probably be gone by Monday.  Oh well, they look pretty now.

Dyson DC25 featured as a robot in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Dyson DC25 featured in Transformers: Revenge of the FallenAs you may know I am a total gadget geek.  I love gadgets and vacuums are no exception.  Over the last couple of years I have been given the opportunity to review a few Dyson vacuums including a canister vacuum and a hand held and have been extremely happy with both.  The hand held gets used several times a day (no kidding) to pick up snack crumbs, scraps of paper from Madelyn’s cutting projects, and naturally.. cereal that falls on the floor when my 9 year old pours it himself.  I know, pouring cereal is a tough job.  Our Dyson Canister is used about 2 times a week and what’s really cool is that it’s my husband or Sebastian that uses it!
I received a Dyson DC28 this week and will review it very soon.

What’s up with the vacuum in the photograph you ask? Well, it’s just about the coolest thing ever, duh!

You’ve probably heard that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen broke box office records on its opening day but quite frankly what’s more intriguing to me than the movie  though, (I’m not a big movie fan) is that a Dyson DC25 vacuum transforms into a Decepticon robot in the movie!  My husband can’t wait to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and will the first chance he gets.  And because he and my son think our Dyson Canister is a weapon which is why they actually use it, I know he’ll love seeing the DC25 transform into a Decepticon robot.

The Dyson DC25 is an upright vacuum cleaner that features Dyson’s famous ball technology which makes the vacuum exceptionally easy to maneuver and vacuums the dirt (and kiddie crumbs) out of the carpet like you wouldn’t believe.
