You are a smart mom.. I just know it! Something that most smart moms do is save money and spend wisely.  One way to save money is to keep your ride alive for 150,000.. even 250,000 miles.  The best way to do that is to keep your car maintained.  Ok, so I haven’t kept a car older 60,000 miles in the 20 years I’ve been a car owner but believe you me.. I’ve learned my lesson and I’d love to try!

A 2010 Jiffy Lube International survey reveals drivers hope to keep vehicles longer and want help from maintenance providers to reach mileage goals.  My local Jiffy Lube guys (and gals!) know that I want them to check EVERYTHING when I come in.  No kidding.  I am a believer in maximizing my time and when I’m waiting in the car shop’s waiting room I want to know that everything possible is getting checked on my car to ensure that it is safe and running efficiently and smoothly.  I feel confident that when I leave Jiffy Lube, my car is in tip top condition and I appreciate the service managers communicate very well with me when/if there is an issue.

Did you know that the Jiffy Lube Signature Service® Oil Change, one that my Nissan Quest has gotten for its last 3 oil changes, is more than just an oil change?   It is a preventive maintenance program that includes changing, inspecting, checking/filling and cleaning key vehicle parts and fluids, offering drivers a quick and convenient way to maintain their vehicle’s value and longevity.  What is absolutely fabulous is that my car is in and out of Jiffy Lube in 30 minutes or less.   • More than half of U.S. drivers (59%) agree it is important to have their oil change finished in 30 minutes or less

The Tessy & Tab Reading Club – Madelyn’s favorite books for travel

Tessy and Tab Reading Club

We just got back from a week’s stay in Orlando and I’m not kidding you.. I read Tessy & Tab books every night and a few times over at that.  I received a set of Tessy & Tab Reading Club books to review and thought that they would be nice to take on our trip so I brought them along.  Once we got to Florida and in bed for the night I took the Tessy & Tab books out of my bag and a very excited Madelyn (4 years old) lined them up and chose one, then two, then three, then four Tessy & Tab books to read.  I usually read 3 books at bedtime and that’s it!  Not while we were in Florida.  That’s not the way it went.

Tessy & Tab Reading Club books promote early independent reading for preschool children.  Each little book uses the six skills for early literacy in order to encourage kids to read alone sooner and with confidence.  Because they are so colorful and fun to read, Madelyn wants to read them over and over again.  I’m fine with it though because she really tries to read these books with me and loves the activities at the end of each book.  The colorful, ad-free magazines arrive in the mail twice a month with useful parent tools and fun learning activities.

Tessy & Tab books teach preschoolers how books work, narrative skills, letter knowledge, phonological awareness (say that 10 times really fast!), vocabulary, and number knowledge amongst other things.
