Every year, the attacks of 9/11 recede further into the past. However, for those of us who lost someone close or otherwise experienced that day – whether in person or on television – thinking and talking about 9/11 may still evoke strong emotions that transport us back to the tragedy and can jar emotions long forgotten. Current events, such as the death of Osama bin Laden, can do the same. Many others will have little or no recollection of the event itself, understanding its details and ramifications through the lens of a somewhat impersonal history and through media coverage of the event.

My 5 year old loves to play with Moon Dough™.  We reviewed the Moon Dough™ Barn play set a year ago and still plays with it.   The new, improved Moon Dough™ is easier to clean up, will never dry out, and is wheat-free and hypo-allergenic.

If you are not familiar with it, Moon Dough™ is a molding compound that is easy for little kids to use and shape as it is light weight and is not sticky and gooey.  The biggest difference with the new Moon Dough™ formula is that it doesn’t crumble.  This makes clean up quick and easy.  When my daughter is finished playing with her Moon Dough™ set, she puts the Moon Dough™ back in the supplied plastic zipper bags and tosses it into her toy basket.

The Push n’ Pop molds are easy for my 5 year old to operate.  Simply push down gently on the mold and it will pop back up itself.  She found the twist mold easy to use to but it took her a few minutes to figure out that she can twist it to get the Moon Dough™ out.  She was trying to dig the Moon Dough™ out, so make sure you tell your child that he/she can simply twist the mold and the Moon Dough should pop right out.
To clean up Moon Dough simply use a small piece of Moon Dough™ and dab up the small loose pieces up and wipe with a dry cloth.
Moon Dough™ is recommended for children 3 and older.

With over 500,000 gallons of water, the waterpark has a lazy river, big slides, little slides all kinds of good stuff. My son would LOVE the Zimbabwe Zipper which reaches speeds of 40 mph! Me, not so much. I prefer the lazy river and kiddie slides. 🙂

Ever since a recent trip to St. Louis when I got to Zip Line, I’ve been wanting to try it again in hopes of mastering the art of zip lining.  My husband and 12 year old son would run straight to the Zimbabwe Zipper and my 5 year old daughter would have a blast in the Tree Top Play area, a jungle themed indoor playground featuring a colorful maze of climbing areas, crawl-through tubes, webs and more! How fun!

Review: Acoustic Research App-Enhanced Docking Station for iPad – On My Things I Use Everyday List

I work from home and it can get really quiet around here when the kids are in school.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining.   I do get lonely though and I feel a little disconnected when there’s no sound around me so I like to have music or a TV show on in the background while I’m working.  I don’t watch TV but hearing it makes me feel less alone. The TV is actually in another room. I can’t even see it.

Acoustic Research iPad Docking StationI was when I received an App-Enhanced Docking Station from Acoustic Research to review.   I ripped the box open, set it up, and was listening to music within minutes of getting the delivery from FedEx.

When I plugged my iPad in to the docking station for the first time, I was prompted to download the free Dock Plus app from the app store.  Dock Plus brings the ultimate in functionality to the docking station.  The app allows me to listen to local FM stations, set my favorite stations, and play and control my iPod/iPhone/iPad music library.  It’s also an alarm clock and has a snooze function.

My 5 year old daughter loves to dance and so she’s always asking me to play songs that are on my iPhone. I love that I can plug my iPhone into this docking station and blast the music super loud so she can dance all over the house and still hear the music!
