Mia Bossi diaper bags allow new moms to conquer the ‘style or function’ debate.

The Mia Bossi Reese Blueberry is a fabulous messenger style diaper bag that will hold all of your mom-essentials.  You can double loop the strap through the rings on the site to wear as a shoulder bag.  While I don’t need a diaper bag anymore because my

daughter is 5 years old, I use my Mia Bossi bags for travel and work.  Mia Bossi diaper bags can double as a purse and a laptop case making it perfect for moms as they transition out of the diaper toting years.  The lining actually zips in and out making it a breeze to clean.  I highly recommend that you get the additional insert for your laptop.

The Reese Blueberry helps keep busy moms organized with the many pockets inside and out.  I HAVE to have pockets on the outside of my handbags.  The outside pockets on this bag are perfect for holding things like your cell phone, camera, and hand sanitizer.

Features of the Reese Blueberry bag:

  • Machine washable faux fur changing pad

How I’m Incorporating Wholesome Choices into My Daily Routine

Staying busy taking care of kids and work can make it challenging for me to maintain a healthy diet and exercise program.  Fortunately, there are plenty of ways for me to fit wholesome choices into my family’s busy lifestyle and keep everybody healthy and happy.

I am partnering with McDonald’s on their Wholesome Choices Blogger Program.  I have been sharing my own tips and ideas for making more wholesome choices in your every day life and have been making changes in my life as well.

Gardening is great physical activity1 – Eating More Fruits and Veggies

My mother taught me early on that eating two to three servings of fruits and veggies daily has big benefits for your health.  They’re packed with vitamins and minerals, and contain enzymes when they’re fresh that fight inflammation and promote healthy digestion.  That’s why I’m making an effort to eat more fruits and vegetables every day.. even thought I don’t really like vegetables.

Eating a good sized helping of vegetables at dinner will support proper digestion and nutrient absorption, and their rich mineral content will help you sleep deeper so you feel better and can get more done the next day.

2 -Eating Healthier While Out and About

Some fast food restaurants like McDonald’s have responded to consumers’ health concerns by offering menu choices that contain few calories but plenty of nutrition. This means that fast food meals don’t have to be unhealthy when you’re in a hurry but also want something wholesome for you and your family.  McDonald’s offers a variety of whole-grain oatmeal choices on its breakfast menu, available all day. The Fruit & Maple Oatmeal and the Apple Cinnamon Walnut Oatmeal are both 100% natural whole grain oats, rich in fiber and freshly prepared.

3 – Staying Active

Finding ways to incorporate exercise into my daily routine is key to staying in shape and feeling energized throughout the day. Gardening is a great way to do this in the spring and summer. It also provides fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables for your family and you can keep your kids fit by including them in the fun.  Last year we grew watermelons, peppers, cucumbers, carrots, tomatos, and strawberries.  I’m looking forward to the fruits and veggies that we grow this year.

McDonald's Wholesome Choices BloggerOn days when I just don’t feel like getting all geared up for an outdoor or treadmill walk, I do indoor exercises such as running up and down the stairs for 20-30 minutes.  I literally ran laps around the middle level of our house today.

Instead of just sitting on the bleachers during your kid’s soccer or football practice, you can get your exercise in by walking around the soccer or football field or doing calisthenics until it’s time to go.

Little Mommy Baby So New™ Doll Review & Video (Win a Little Mommy doll!)

Fisher-Price Little Mommy doll

Little Mommy - Baby So New™ baby dollNo matter how much parents try to sway their little girls or boys to play with toys that are made for either gender, I have found that my little girl and my son always gravitate toward toys that were specifically made for their gender.  My son loves outdoor toys and my daughter likes dolls and kitchen toys.

My daughter first saw Little Mommy dolls advertised on TV.  I think she saw the one that poops in the potty that she comes with.  She though she needed that doll the same day because that doll needed a mommy (my daughter) to teach her how to go poopoo in the potty. I knew that another Little Mommy doll was on its way to our doorstep so I redirected her attention to a nice game of ‘who can put the most make up on your baby dolls’.’

My daughter was beside herself when her Baby So New™ Little Mommy doll we received to review, arrived at our door.  She set up a bed for her, tried to feed her celery (because that’s what babies like to eat right?), and then decided that Baby So New™ could use a nap so she fed her with the bottle that came with her and sang to her to ‘put her to sleep’.

These lovable dolls can be part of capturing memorable moments, sharing important milestones, and most of all, giggling with all of your own LittleMommies.

Little Mommy™ Scrapbook pagesYour little girl will have a great time with the Little Mommy printables on the Mattel Little Mommy website.  Printables include a “Little Mommy – My Little Scrapbook”, a Birth Certificate for your child’s Little Mommy doll, and Flash Cards.  In the photograph to the right, Madelyn is filling out one of the Scrapbook pages.

Dear Dr. Suess – My Happy Birthday Letter to Dr. Seuss

Dr. Seuss Birthday - Alicia with The Lorax at Blissdom ConferenceDear Dr. Seuss,

I just wanted to write you a quick letter to say “Happy Birthday”.  I’m not sure if you’ll get it but I’ve talked to a few good people who might be able to get this into your hands.

Theodor Seuss Geise, thank you for living such a wonderfully productive, and creative life and for sharing your brilliance and creativity with the world’s children through your books.

  • Thank you for helping my children and children all over the world learn to read and WANT to read.
  • Thank you for teaching children that it’s ok to imagine and to be silly.
  • Thank you for convincing my 5 year old that that’s just a WOSET in her CLOSET, and not a monster after all!
  • Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be incredibly silly in front of my children by reading aloud such words as Thneed.
Thank you for bringing families closer for all of these years and years to come.  Most importantly, thank you for spreading such wonderful messages such as in The Lorax, in a way that motivates our children to CARE!

All my love,

Alicia Hagan, Editor
