A couple of years ago, HTC’s Droid Incredible launched with great reviews and high sales. The 4G LTE version is the third model in the line of Droid Incredibles, and is a very well designed phone. The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE is available on Verizon, and is a great family smartphone. The phone itself is sleek and modern, and features competitive hardware. A snappy 1.2 GHz dual core processor powers the phone. It features a 4 inch screen with a 960×540 resolution, and 8 GB of internal memory expandable with an SD card slot.
The phone features an 8 MP camera and takes full HD video, making it perfect for capturing special moments. A front facing camera for video calling makes staying in touch with long-distance family easy. Like most smartphones, a built-in GPS provides directions as well as allows location information to be added to online posts, a great feature for bloggers! Integrated Google Maps and Navigation apps give directions and make it easy to find new places to visit around town.
Version 4.0 of the popular Android operating system is included, and has great integration with Google products, including Gmail, Google’s popular email service. The native email app syncs with other popular email services to make most email accounts easily accessible on the phone. Google’s Play Store is another built-in app, and offers a massive marketplace of apps, books, music, magazines, and movies. Verizon loads several of their own applications on the device, including one that easily creates a mobile hotspot to provide Internet access to your laptop, if your data plan supports this feature.
Busy moms will love the Netflix app, which makes streaming movies and videos simple. This app is great for relaxing on the go, or even for a family movie night when connected to a television. Several readers, available in the form of Google’s Play Books, Amazon’s Kindle, or Barnes and Noble’s Nook, allow you to read your favorite novels right on the phone, and connect to popular e-reader platforms if you already have an account with one of these companies.
Facebook is a popular app for teenagers. The Facebook app for Android is free and has most of the social features offered by the full site. The Fandango app is another popular one for teens who love going to movies with friends, and makes it easy to find movie times and other information about popular releases.
Busy moms and teenagers will appreciate receiving this phone as a Christmas gift! It’s slightly smaller than many other similar phones, making it extra portable. It still has all of the features, and is a great way to get entertainment on the go, from books to movies, for when you get a spare moment to relax. The Droid Incredible 4G LTE by HTC has all of the social features a teenager or busy parent could possibly want to stay connected to their friends and family at a reasonable price, and it can even be helpful for homework.
Both adults and kids will love the Droid Incredible 4G LTE. I know I and my kids do!

I remind my kids often that they are lucky to have a roof above their heads at night, two cars to travel in, food to eat, and clean water to drink. They look at me like I’m crazy. I can’t emphasize enough to them that their life is easy. This holiday season I will have something in my hands to show my kids that is connected to a community somewhere in the world that is not as privileged as we are. I will have hand-carved serving spoons to help tell the story of orphans in the Kamba tribe of Kenya. The serving spoons are made to benefit orphans of the Kamba tribe in Kenya. Each one is unique—just like the children they help.
This holiday season, let the scarf around your neck, the ornaments on your tree, or the wooden serving spoons on your table be conversation starters. What’s the topic? Children and families in impoverished communities and solving the challenges they are facing, such as access to food, clean water, education, and more.
How can a clothing accessory or table decoration contribute to this dialog? When gift-givers make a holiday donation through World Vision’s Maximum Impact Fund, the gift is used where it’s most needed, tackling some of the world’s greatest challenges. With a donation of $25 or more the donor receives a free gift (a few listed below) to wear, carry, use or give to a loved one. Most of the Maximum Impact Fund items available in the catalog are made by micro-enterprising artisans around the world and the sale proceeds directly benefit their communities.

Here are a few gorgeous gift ideas from the catalog:
Tie the beautiful beaded ornaments to napkin rings as a vivid tabletop decoration. The set includes three handmade Zakale wire and bead ornaments from Nairobi. Meaning “reuse,” Zakale crafts are made from recycled materials by a group of Kenyan artisans reclaiming their own lives from poverty.
Dish up a holiday salad with unique hand-carved serving spoons made with care to benefit orphans in Kenya.
Accessorize for a holiday party with a silk scarf from the coast of Thailand. After the harvest season, the women of Thailand’s Surin Province put down the farming tools and take up the loom to hand-wove the beautiful Sabai scarves.
The BPA-Free 16 oz. eco cold cup comes in handy when on the run. Every sip is a reminder of those who’ve been helped.
My son is going to be a happy boy this Christmas. He’s the best boy I could ever dream of having. That being said, when Sebastian was young, it didn’t occur to me that he’d grow up to love multi-tools, camping, and bb guns. I don’t know what I expected. Nothing compares to the good ole’ outdoors to Sebastian. My Grandfather passed away when Sebastian was about 7 years old but he still remembers his Daisy BB Gun. My Grandfather had a great big garden with vegetables that he worked hard to grow and would talk of threatening the mischievous garden rabbits with (the sound of) his bb gun, although he never followed through with even the slightest threat when we were around. His Daisy BB Gun was kept in a gun cabinet behind his recliner in the living room right by the back door, but he never took it out in front of the kids. He was a very smart man.
Sebastian is a Boy Scout and loves to be outside, go hiking, camping, relax in his hammock, and build campfires. The only thing that will make his backyard adventures even more exciting is when he opens his brand new Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun, bb pellets, and goggles this Christmas. We won’t see him for the rest of the day or the day after, I’m sure.
During our shopping trip to buy the Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun, I was pretty excited. I actually looked like I knew what I was doing in the sporting goods section at Walmart because it was so easy to find what I was looking for! The Daisy section at our Walmart is considerable and I recognized the Daisy logo upon entering the section and found the Red Ryder BB Gun quickly. Gathering accessories to go along with the bb gun was fun too! I bought safety goggles and a HUGE container of BB pellets for Sebastian to enjoy with his new bb gun.
We are super excited about holiday gifting especially when it comes to our kids, this year. Every November I get a bit anxious about what the kids will possibly want for Christmas, then it never fails that by the end of the first week of December they both supply us with a list of at least two dozen gift ideas. My son’s wish list is made up of 80% outdoor products and 20% iPhone accessories and I think between my husband and I and relatives, he will get 100% of the outdoorsy items on his wish list this Christmas.
Before he’s allowed out the door with his new bb gun, he will have to understand a few gun safety tips:
Check your target and beyond your target.
Only load or cock a gun when you are shooting. He is NEVER allowed to have pellets in his air soft gun in the house and he is NEVER allowed to cock it in the house.
Anyone shooting or near a shooter should wear shooting glasses. Do not take chances!
Avoid ricochet. Never shoot at a flat hard surface or at the surface of water. Ammunition can ricochet off of water just like a skipped rock.
My husband and I already have our safety speech prepared. Don’t shoot at anything except a target,
always wear protective eyewear, and don’t shoot anywhere near icicles! I think you know why. At least if you’ve seen the iconic Christmas movie, A Christmas Story, you know why. The Daisy Red Ryder BB gun was available beginning in 1938 and is a well known bb gun as featured in A Christmas Story. My husband loves that my son will have a Daisy Red Ryder almost exactly like the one Ralphie has in the movie.
You’ll find Daisy Outdoor products at stores including Walmart, Bass Pro Shops, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Kmart to name a few.

I know you love doing laundry. In fact I saw the results of a survey recently in which it was determined that Moms prefer doing laundry over vacuming. While I can’t find the survey now and I wouldn’t go so far as to agree with that, I do get a great deal of satisfaction out of taking clean, delicious smelling clothes out of the dryer.
Even if you don’t enjoy doing laundry, I highly recommend that you stay on top of laundrybefore and during Thanksgiving week.
One way I motivate myself to stay on top of laundry is by using a liquid laundry detergent that smells really good.
Scenario #1: Holiday Napkin Disaster
The kids don’t understand that holiday napkins are for use on special occassions like Thanksgiving & Christmas only. The kids use your holiday napkins to clean the bathroom or wipe the juice spill off the dining room floor, resulting in sticky, dirty napkins.
Tip:
Be ready to restock the holiday napkins with a spare set (yes, buy two sets of holiday napkins, at least) and while you’re using those, was the others with a detergent that is sure to make your house guests think that you just baked a delicious pie, Gain’s Apple Mango Tango liquid laundry detergent.
Scenario #2: Blanket Disaster At Aunt Betty’s
You visit Aunt Betty’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. The kids drag their favorite snuggle blankies all over Aunt Betty’s floor knowing that Aunt Betty has 19 dogs and 3 cats. Eeewww! Naturally, you find lint balls, dog hair, cat hair and who knows what else stuck to the kids blankets. But shoot! You didn’t bring laundry detergent to Aunt Betty’s house.
Tip:
You never know what kind of laundry detergent a friend or family member uses, so I am a firm believer in BYOLD (bring your own laundry detergent)!
Just as importantly, you don’t want the kids to be snuggling with dirty blankies during the long drive home from Aunt Betty’s house, do you? All the more reason to take detergent with you and wash their blankets before driving home.
Aunt Betty would probably even appreciate it if you threw in a few napkins and hand towels with the kids blankies! 🙂
