Yes, this is my final Rice Krispies Treats recipe decision and it’s Very Berry!

Updated June 25th – Congratulations to the winner of our Rice Krispies Treats Recipe Cookbook giveway, Susan R.!

I’ve decided to enter my star shaped Rice Krispies Treats with raspberry sorbet, Cool Whip, and fresh berries recipe in the Rice Krispies Treats recipe challenge I’m participating in as a Rice Krispies ambassador along with 9 other great bloggers.

Being a part of the July 4th Rice Krispies Treats Recipe Challenge has been a blast for me despite the fact that I’ve been traveling and haven’t been able to make as many recipes as I would have liked.  I was able to spend several hours creating a few different recipes and have finally settled on my favorite.. Very Berry Rice Krispies Treats. The other two recipes I made but am not submitting for the contest are (1) Rice Krispies Treats cup filled with sorbet and fresh fruit, with a chocolate rim, and (2) Rice Krispies Treats chocolate covered bowl filled with ice cream and fresh fruit.

My kids, 10 and 4, had so much fun helping me with the Rice Krispies Treats Recipe Challenge.  Madelyn stirred the melting marshmallows and helped put the Rice Krispies in the mix while Sebastian filmed what turned out to be a very shaky video of me going through the entire process of making these delicious Rice Krispies Treats.  I am so proud of Sebastian for trying!  He did a great job.

Which Rice Krispies Treats recipe looks yummiest?

Sebastian trying a Rice Krispies Treats star with raspberry sorbet filling

As you may know, I am a Rice Krispies brand ambassador and am participating in Rice Krispies latest Recipe Challenge along with 9 other great bloggers. We have been asked to come up with a Rice Krispies Treats(TM) recipe that includes something refrigerated or frozen – and the winning recipe will be featured on www.RiceKrispies.com and on the Rice Krispies® Facebook page!

Our recipes are due by June 24th, but because I am leaving for Orlando Tuesday, my kids and I worked for about 6 hours Sunday.. no kidding, making several Rice Krispies Treats recipes. The kids didn’t complain.. in fact Sebastian loved being a Rice Krispies Treats taste tester and Madelyn loved stirring the gooey marshmallow mixture and cutting out the star shapes with the cookie cutters.

Rice Krispies Treats are an experience.. not a snack, to me. When I want a snack I grab some Cheddar Bunnies but when I want a treat.. something special.. I want a Rice Krispies Treat or ice cream..or a swiss cake roll..or all three. Ok, I have to stop! When I was asked to be a Rice Krispies brand ambassador for their current Rice Krispies Treats Recipe challenge I was excited, nervous, and happy. Happy mostly because this gives me a REASON an EXCUSE for making tons of Rice Krispies Treats and did I ever! I went through almost all of our glass plates, spoons, knives, and wax paper in the last 6 hours.

I get to submit only one of my Rice Krispies Treats recipes and I can’t decide which one to submit so I’m letting my readers decide for me – thank you very much! 🙂

Rice Krispies Recipe Challenge.. what will I make?

I was recently chosen to be a Rice Krispies brand ambassador and to participate in a Rice Krispies Recipe Challenge along with 9 other great bloggers.  My initial reaction was “Snap!”… Crackle and Pop! I couldn’t resist.
These kinds of programs are fun for bloggers to participate in as it brings bloggers together and allows us to get to know each other when we might not otherwise have the opportunity.

Myself and the other bloggers had to work together via Twitter yesterday (view our entertaining #ricekrispies Twitter stream in the box below) to figure out how to make a sentence out of the one word clues we each received in the mail. After a couple of hours of going back and forth with sentence ideas, we finally did it!  It was about 11:30pm when we finalized it I think and I was exhausted but I couldn’t stop thinking about Rice Krispie Treats… yum!  I love Rice Krispie treats.. I used to put extra marshmallows in them to make them extra gooey but my son doesn’t like gooey stuff so much so I had to lay off the marshmallows a bit.

Now all 10 of us have to create a unique Rice Krisipies Treat recipe with the sentence clue.  Hmm.. what will I do?  I have a few ideas that I’m going to work on Friday.  Wish me luck.. please!

EasyLunchbox Food containers and Carrying Bags

I love food storage items.  I have a cabinet packed with all types of food storage products and one of my favorites is Easy Lunchboxes’ combo lunch and snack containers (AKA food storage containers).  Easy Lunchboxes’ Compartmentalized BPA-Free Plastic Food Storage Containers are colorful, convenient, and BPA-free.

My 3 year old takes lunch Wednesdays and Fridays and these combined with her Citizenpip lunch bag make packing her lunch a breeze and easy for her to carry.  I usually put hummus in one compartment, carrots or crackers in another, and fruit and cheese in the 3rd compartment.  EasyLunchBoxes.com sells a lunch box cooler which is great for day trips and for older kids who take their lunch to school but my 3 year old has to fit her lunch box in her school bag and the Easy Lunchboxes’ lunch cooler is too big to fit in her bag.

Easy Lunch Boxes’ features:

  • dishwasher safe
  • microwave safe
  • refrigerator and freezer safe
  • secure snap-on lids
  • 4 bottoms with 3 compartments each
  • 4 lids – each a different color
  • very sturdy.. these are more sturdy than typical food storage containers
  • BPA-free

GIVEAWAY!

  • EasyLunchboxes.com is giving one lucky reader a set of containers and a lunch bag!
  • To enter, tell me what your child’s favorite school lunch is in the comments below.
  • Entries accepted through February 20th.
