Atlanta Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Shops

Enjoying ice cream at Bruster's in Marietta, GA

I’ll come up with any excuse to go to the ice cream shop including..“if you clean your room, I’ll buy you ice cream”.  Who ends up cleaning the kid’s rooms?  I do!  We don’t go to ice cream shops nearly as often I’d like (who does?) but I love to go to ice cream shops like Bruster’s and Marble Slab Creamery.  We don’t go to ice cream shops just for the delicious ice cream but also for the fun family time, togetherness and if your childhood was anything like mine, going to ice cream and frozen yogurt shops provide for some great memories!  One thing that stands out in my childhood memories is going to TCBY with my Dad and sister where we grew up in Orlando.

Now, when I take my kids to Bruster’s or Marble Slab, I reminisce and think about how I’m building memories for my kids by doing something so simple as taking them to the ice cream shop.

Did you know that there are gourmet ice cream shops, gelato, smoothies, and frozen yogurt shops galore in Atlanta? Just like the Cupcake Bakeries list I recently put together for our great readers, the AtlantaMoms.com ice cream shops directory is growing fast and I’m sure you’ll find a great ice cream shop to visit near you.

Cupcake Bakeries in Atlanta.. yum!

Atlanta Cupcake Bakery

Did you know that there are lots of Cupcake Bakeries in and around Atlanta?  I didn’t until I started adding them to a new guide on AtlantaMoms.com titled none other than.. Cupcake Bakeries.

I get emails from moms all of the time asking where the best place to have a child’s birthday party is, who the best magician in Atlanta is, and where they should by a birthday cake.  While I can’t vouch for every birthday party place or magician in Atlanta I have no problem buying cupcakes from Cupcake Bakeries in Atlanta to try them out.. over time of course.

Check out the new AtlantaMoms.com Cupcake Bakeries guide featuring the likes of Lenox Cupcakes and The Atlanta Cupcake Factory.

Update: Even more Cupcake Bakeries added to our list!

Madelyn’s swimming like a fish in the lake!

I am so relieved that Madelyn is actually swimming now.  She’s 4 years old and has been taking swim lessons at Aqua Tots in Woodstock, GA for about a year now.  You can tell now that she’s very confident in the water. I used to be very nervous when we would swim in the lake when we vacation in Florida (no alligators!), but now I’m more relaxed knowing that Madelyn can come back to the surface if she goes under and she can swim a good distance if needed… and just for fun.
I used to not let her more than 2 feet away from me and it was very hard for me to let her go in the lake or pool without ‘swimmies’ on but at Aqua Tots they don’t allow the kids to use ‘swimmies’ so they learn not to rely on them I guess. Anyway.. check out this video of Madelyn, my little fishy.
