Princess Onesie – Roslyn’s Closet

Roslynscloset_princessonesie_1Princess Peanut… that’s what I call Madelyn. I know, it’s a pretty wierd nickname.

Now, when Madelyn wears her super cute princess onesie from Roslyn’s Closet, the whole world understands that they are not in the company of ‘just another baby’ (there is no such thing, actually), they are looking at a Princess!

The genius behind the whimisical designs at Roslyn’s Closet, Jodi, is a mom of two, and her goal was to create pieces that capture the innocence and
sweetness of being young which I think she has done exceptionally well.

Madelyn’s onesie is nice and soft with an easy to slip on neck. The fit is very cute. Of course, the onesie is machine washable.. would I allow anything else in my home.. no!

There are designs for both boys and girls at Roslyn’s Closet. Her sizes go up to 6T and are available in short and long sleeves.

Myself Belts – They make life a little easier!

As most of you know, I have a seven year old son, Sebastian. Sebastian loves to be like Daddy and Daddy wears a belt.  So, Sebastian always wants to wear a belt. . just like Dad. However, he learned quickly that Dad must have a trick up his sleeve because it takes him about 5 seconds to put his belt on and it would take Sebastian about 5 minutes of spinning himself around and around in one spot before  getting his belt through all the loops and then buckling it. He was a real sport though. As long as he looked like Dad, everything was OK. The patience of a 6 year old!  I wish I had it.Myselfbeltes

Sebastian’s belt routine became a whole lot easier when he recieved a Myself Belt to try out. He caught on to the three simple steps to the Myself Belt very quickly and life has been a breeze since. (at least that few seconds, anyway)

Sebastian was able to figure out how to put on his Myself Belt the first time which really impressed me. I know your child will do the same. All the child does is snap the end of the belt around the front right belt loop to secure the belt, first. No more dangling belt. Then he slides the rest of the belt through the loops. He has since learned that standing still works a little better than spinning around and around when putting the belt through the loops. The last step is to join the ends together via the Velcro on both ends. That’s it! He’s done!!  What a relief.

I recommend a Myself Belt or two, or three, for your kids ages 2-6. Myself Belts are a great way to give your kids a sense of self accomplishment and help them look like Mom or Dad without taking forever like traditional belts.

Myself Belts are available in sizes for 2 – 6 year olds and larger sizes are available as well. Parents can choose from several styles for both boys and girls. My favorite girl belt is the Pink Cordouroy and my favorite boy belt is the Camoflauge.  Don’t worry, your kids can also have a Myself Belt for fancier occasions like Church, going to Grandma’s house, etc as they offer nice black and brown leather belts for both boys and girls.

Reversible romper – Right Bank Babies

Rightbankbabies
I don’t know about you, but I like to look at my baby books and see how things like clothing, furniture, decor, hair styles, have changed in the last 30+ years. There are a few things that we hope will come back and some things that we hope will not come back such as the 1970’s hair styles.  Right Bank Babies has brought the classic baby romper back, but in not so classic patterns.

Right Bank Baby rompers are reversable so you really have two great outfits for your baby.

We’ve all done it.. we are out of the house, baby gets her shirt dirty (no names mentioned!), so baby’s shirt is turned in side out so as to not gross out baby’s crazed fans. Ok, that was a little dramatic, but it’s the truth. It happens. Now, when your baby is wearing her Right Bank Baby reversable romper, you can turn it in side out and your baby is actually wearing a whole new outfit… and mom looks prepared!  Your in-laws will be so impressed.

Right Bank Baby reversable romper patterns cater to both boys and girls and moms with all types of style including classic, modern, hip, trendy, and whimsical.

My camera is out of commission today but I hope to include a photograph of Madleyn wearing her ‘flaming’ Right Bank Baby reversable romper later today.

Teddy E. Makers – Teddy bear in a box

We’re sorry but this is an archived post so the product image is no longer available.

Sebastian, my seven year old son, loves stuffed animals. He probably has around 12-15 in his bed any given night. Sebastian has asked me on several occasions to take him to the "bear shop" in the mall.. the one where you ‘build’ your own bear (can’t say the name here). I HATE going to the mall so I have always put it off. Enter.. Ted E. Makers online shop. Ted E. Makers is a godsend to those of us who don’t like going to the mall and especially don’t like overpriced stores.

Sebastian got ‘Honey, the stuffed bear’ about a week ago and he has slept with him every night since.   His bear came in a box that can be made into a highchair for the bear.  The kit included the stuffing, a sound chip, and an outfit. Sebastian had a blast putting the stuffing in his bear (now called ‘Amazing Bear’). Amazing bear is very soft. I am very impressed with the quality of the bear.  There is ample stuffing supplied so the animal your child gets will not be flimsy but nice and firm yet still very cuddly. After Sebastian put the stuffing in, he placed the sound chip in his paw.
A really neat feature of the Ted E. Makers animals is that there is a loop of string on the zipper that parents can cut off to secure/lock the zipper so a baby or young child can’t unzip the bear and get the stuffing out.  I love this as Madelyn is VERY into zippers now and seems to be magnetically drawn to any zipper within 15 feet.

After Sebastian stuffed his bear and put the sound chip in, he dressed him in a really cool hockey
outfit.

Ted E. Makers has a "Bear Boutique" where parents and children can choose from dozens of cute outfits for their animal.

Ted E. Makers does not just sell teddy bears but offers a wide variety of animals including dogs, pigs, lions, cows, and more. Your child is sure to find an animal he loves at Ted E. Makers.

Sounds you can choose from include a baby laughing, kisses, a cow, a pig, and several others.

If you want to purchase a bear as a gift, you can select one of several ‘gift’ bears. They have a "get well soon" section that features a "bear MD", a "nurse bear", and a "bedtime bear" each comes complete with stuffing and an outfit and your choice of sounds, slippers, etc.

I absolutely LOVE the convenience of being able to choose an animal and its accessories online instead of having to go to the mall!

My Hat Heads – baby hats and scarfs

Myhatheads1
This is Madelyn (8 months) in her My Hat Heads hat and scarf. I can’t get over how cute she looks in these! (at least I think so) What’s even better is how soft they are and how warm they keep her. It has been in the 40’s and 50’s here in Atlanta lately and I like to be outside so I have been bundling Madelyn up in lots of blankets to keep her warm. Now she has her very own hat and scarf!

My Hat Heads offers their hats and scarfs in pre-made styles, of which there are a lot, and custom styles.  When you choose the custom design option you can choose the fabric pattern and the hat style. Madelyn’s hat is the pom pom style.  Most of the hats come with a scarf.

My Hat Heads also sells bib, blankets, burp cloths, tag-ees, and gift certificates!

UPDATE: Most of you know that Sebastian is my durability tester.  Well, I learned this morning that My Hat Heads pieces are VERY durable. How did I learn that?   A little game of tug-o-war. Don’t ask! Anyway.. the scarf handled the game very and I’m sure the hat would have as well if the ‘game’ wasn’t abrutly ended.. by the mean mom.. me.  I am guessing that the pieces are so durable because of the  stitching around edges. Sometimes I don’t notice how well a piece is made until it is terribly abused by my 7 year old.  It’s great to have a free durability tester on my review panel!
