Madelyn went through a phase during which she didn’t want anything in her hair.. hairbows, clips, or headbands. A 2 1/2 year phase in fact. She’s 3 now and is more open to letting me fix her hair and put hair clips in it especially now that it’s long and she gets annoyed when it falls in her eyes and face. My kids run around the house and act like monkeys. Sebastian has always loved anything to do with monkeys including the obnoxious sound they make. Maybe real monkeys aren’t as obnoxious as my monkeys?
ute Safari dinnerware set from Zoocchini. For the first few days after getting it, I had to hand wash the plate and cup 2+ times a day so she could use them at every meal. Nothing else would do. She scoots her food over so the Giraffe and Monkey’s eyes aren’t covered. She said, “they have to be able to see me while I eat Mommy”. Silly me.

Madelyn started preschool this year and I was a bit of a wreck on the first Wednesday she attended because that is the day the kids stay an hour later so they can eat lunch at school. A few thoughts that raced in my mind where: what would she think about eating with other kids, they are like aliens to her, what would I pack for her to eat, and what on earth would I pack her lunch in? My first thought was to put some carrots and crackers in a couple of small ziplocks and put them inside a big ziplock and send her on her way. It’s been a long time since I sent a child to preschool.. about 8 years.
