Diaper Baggies

Diaper Baggies are a wonderful thing. There have been two times in the last few months (before I got diaper baggies) that I could have really used these. One time was when we were arriving at a restaurant and Madelyn pooped right when we pulled into the parking lot. The only garbage can available at the restaurant was right outside the front door and I thought it would be really rude to share Madelyn’s stinky diaper with the nice people coming and going so I had to leave the diaper in the car. Needless to say, when we got back in the car, none of us were eager to get back in the car after dinner.

Here’s a true story: We were at my mom’s house a couple of weekends ago and I left the kids with her for an hour or so, so I could do some shopping. When I came back, we hung around for a while then went home around 8:30. I don’t know about you but when I get home, I take the diaper bag and put it in the same spot and don’t touch it until I go out again. Well..while my mom was watching the kids she changed Madelyn’s poopy diaper. She doesn’t like poopy diapers in her garbage so she put it in a grocery bag and then in my diaper bag. Oh my gosh!!! Did I have a surprise the next day when I reached in to get my wallet out! Oh, it stank! Who puts a poopy diaper in a grocery bag?  We all know they don’t close well and certainly don’t keep the smell out.  My gripe was that she could have at least told me she put a poopy diaper in my diaper bag. So.. my plan from now on is to give her a few Diaper Baggies so that doesn’t happen again.

Munchkin Inflatable Bathtub

Madelyn loves this bathtub almost as much as I do. For the first few months after she was born I used one of those typical blue hard plastic bathtubs. Then Madelyn started to want to sit up all the time and it was getting dangerous in that buthtub, so I went to Target on a search for the perfect bathtub and I found one! It’s the Munchkin Inflatable Bathtub. It takes just a few minutes to inflate and little did I know it quacks!  At first Madelyn was scared of the quacking sound, but once she heard it a few times, she started to laugh at it.
There is a white hot safety disc that reveals the word "hot" when the bath water is too hot and a headrest for easy hair washing.  The no slip surface eases my mind when Madelyn tries to move around a lot or stand up while in the bathtub.

Onesie and Nursing Curtain from Mommy’s Little Monkey

Unfortunately, Madelyn is not interested in nursing these days but while I was nursing I used a nursing curtain from Mommy’s Little Monkey which alleviated a lot of stress, believe it or not. When I would take the kids to my mother’s house and she would have visitors, the Mommy’s Little Monkey nursing curtain was a life saver. Not only did it cover my ‘goods’ while Madelyn nursed but I felt somewhat stylish at the same time. We aren’t a sporty family, but when I put this playsuit, bib, and hat on Madelyn I wanted to cheer.. and I did! I was so excited about how cute the ensamble is that I was laughing and saying "oh, she’s so cute" just like any Mom would when her baby is in a Lil’ Trendy Babies Varsity Layette.
